At LBB, we’re all about embracing small businesses and local brands. There are over 3.5 MILLION independent lifestyle brands and businesses in India; and these businesses have unique needs and requirements to build themselves up.

Over the course of the past year, we’ve kicked off a plethora of new initiatives that enable these brands to:

a. Get recognition

b. Get educated about how to build their brands better

c. Network with likeminded entrepreneurs

Here’s 4 of our favourite (and best performing!) merchant facing initiatives!

  1. LBB’s Top 50 Emerging Brands Awards

LBB’s Emerging Brands Awards were India’s first jury and users’ choice awards for India’s up and coming, insurgent brands across categories. With jury members like Pooja Dhingra, Vivek Prabhakar & Rakshay Dhariwal, these awards also helped put spotlight on young and innovative Indian brands, bringing them to our users’ notice.

Adding to the list of benefits that TEBA had, the awards ceremony also turned out to be a networking event of sorts. Over a 100 entrepreneurs and brand owners came today for an afternoon of meeting new folks and celebrating India’s best emerging brands and businesses.

2. Makers Meet

At LBB, we’re always making sure we keep our brand partners in the loop about the newest trends and happenings on LBB and with millennial Indian customers at large. This happens at our Makers Meet- an event where makers and brand owners get a chance to meet and hear from various LBB members, ask questions and share learnings.

The 2nd edition of Makers Meet in June of 2020. It was a virtual line-up of all things LBB, with talking points around new features and services, opportunities, product updates and best performing content across all LBB platforms! We had over 1000 emerging brands sign up for this online event- and it was a huge hit on our social media as well.

3. Bracing Indie brands through User Generated Content

We know 2020 was a hard year for all of us, especially small businesses. LBB’s initiatives such as #WeGotYou, #LocalBizFam and Local Gift Cards & Vouchers helped our community support fellow Indie brands in trying times.

Be it shoutouts or free promotions on our platforms, these mechanisms gave LBB a chance to extend a helping hand towards potential brands that needed assistance in surviving the wrath of 2020. And through gift cards, we supported #localstores without charging any commission/fees from them.

4. LBB’s Open House

What is better than a podcast that brings to you all the inside scoop from entrepreneurial big-shots and OG content creators from the industry? On LBB’s Open House, our co-founder Suchita Salwan has candid conversations with co-founders, CXOs and investors behind India’s most compelling brands and businesses.

Learn all about our guests’ personal journeys, business-building skills, and how they made products that were not only loved by consumers, but widely accepted in the Indian market. You can head over to our YouTube channel or a podcast platform of your choice to listen.

There’s something always cooking at LBB for local brands. Want to be a part of the crew? Holler here.
